Sleep awareness month

March is Sleep Awareness Month. There are very few things, actions and behaviors that affect our mental and physical well being more than sleep. According to the National Sleep Foundation, at least 40 million Americans suffer from sleep disorders. Most of us are aware that a lack of sleep can have detrimental consequences to our health. From higher blood pressure numbers to cognitive fogginess and much more in- between, sleep is important. Seniors often have trouble with experiencing less restful sleep due to trips to the bathroom, falling asleep too early in the evening, and maintaining a consistent sleep pattern.
